Do you wish there was a way to start fresh with a new smile? Full mouth dental implants provide not only a strong bite, but a lifelike appearance that looks just like natural teeth. Our practice in Raleigh, NC, helps patients restore their smiles with full mouth dental implants.
Full Mouth Dental Implants
What Are Full Mouth Dental Implants?
Full mouth dental implants are non-removable dentures that restore a full arch of missing teeth. Implant-supported dental restorations are the most comprehensive way to replace lost teeth.
Our periodontist, Dr. Thiago Morelli, will partner with your dentist to coordinate dental implant surgery and the placement of your restoration. Most patients go from complete tooth loss to a brand-new smile in just one day.

The Many Benefits
Of Full Mouth Dental Implants
Traditional dentures are an adequate choice for patients with widespread tooth loss, but they don’t offer as many benefits as full mouth restorations secured by dental implants. This innovative dental procedure offers many advantages, including:
Easier Care
Caring for removable dentures can quickly become a chore. Traditional dentures must be removed at night to let your gums rest. Patients must take care not to drop their dentures or let them dry out, which can damage them. In contrast, restorations supported by dental implants only have to be brushed twice a day and flossed daily – the same care as natural teeth.
Increased Comfort
Traditional dentures are held to your gums with suction and an adhesive. They easily slip and shift out of place. Full mouth dental implants are more stable and feel like a set of new natural teeth that won’t slip when you’re eating your favorite foods. The full mouth restoration attached to your implants is designed to be the perfect fit for your mouth.
Prevent Jaw Atrophy
When you lose a tooth, your jawbone begins to deteriorate from the loss of stimulation from that tooth’s roots. Patients missing a full arch of teeth can preserve the health of their jawbone with full mouth dental implants, which act as artificial tooth roots. Implants help prevent jaw atrophy and keep your smile and facial structure from sagging with the loss of bone density.
The All-On-4 Timeline
- Consultation: The process of restoring a complete arch of teeth begins with an implant dentistry consultation at our periodontist’s office in Raleigh, NC. At this time, we’ll take advanced X-rays and scans of the structures in your mouth and determine if dental implants are the right dentistry option to meet your needs.
- Preparatory Procedures: Full mouth dental implants require good oral health and strong jawbone density. For some patients, preparatory procedures like bone grafting, sinus lifts, or gum disease treatment may be needed before dental implants can be placed.
- Placing the Implants: The treatment site will be thoroughly numbed to ensure your comfort. Then the biocompatible titanium implant posts will be inserted into the jawbone.
- Placing the Abutments: A connecting piece, called an abutment, will be attached to each dental implant. The abutments will hold your denture securely to the implants.
- Restoration: Most patients are able to receive their new full-arch dentures soon after implant placement, often on the same day as implant surgery at our Raleigh office. Dr. Morelli will coordinate with your dentist so that they will have your new teeth ready for you!
Does Insurance Cover Treatment?
While traditional dentures are often covered by dental insurance, implants aren’t often covered. However, we can check with your dental insurance provider to learn if the restoration or other parts of treatment are covered. We also accept monthly financing through CareCredit® and LendingClub® at low to no interest fees.
