North Carolina Implants and Periodontics Announced as 2026 Diamond Award Winner by Midtown Magazine
NC Implants and Periodontics Won Silver for Best Periodontist in the Lifestyle Magazine’s ‘Health & Beauty’ Category.

Raleigh, NC – January 7, 2026 – Midtown Magazine, one of the leading lifestyle magazines in the Raleigh metro area, has announced North Carolina Implants and Periodontics as the Silver Award winner for Best Periodontist in their annual Diamond Awards. The award celebrates the best shops, restaurants, services, and professionals across Raleigh, as voted on by their community.
“I’m so proud of this Diamond Award from Midtown Magazine,” said Dr. Thiago Morelli, owner and founder of North Carolina Implants and Periodontics. “All of us here at the practice put so much work and effort into providing the best possible periodontal care for our patients every day, so it’s truly an honor to be recognized by our patients, community, and peers.”
Since 2018, NC Implants and Periodontics has a proven track record in the fields of regenerative medicine, implant dentistry, genetics and tissue engineering. Dr. Morelli recently co-published a paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences which uncovered a sex-dependent biological driver for periodontitis. The study opens the door for future anti-inflammasome therapies that can specifically benefit male patients, guiding researchers to look for different biological mechanisms responsible of bone loss in females.
Apart from his work Dr. Morelli at the practice, Dr. Morelli is also an adjunct professor at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and serves as a board member for Wake Smiles, a non-profit that works to provide compassionate, high-level dental services for under-resourced adults.
