We offer two types of dental sedation: oral conscious sedation and intravenous (IV) sedation.
Oral conscious sedation is administered in the form of a pill that’s taken about an hour before your appointment. A friend or relative will have to drive you to our office, as it will start to take effect before you arrive.
During the procedure, you’ll be aware of what’s happening and able to respond to your dentist, but feel calm and relaxed. You’ll need a ride home after your appointment.

IV sedation is administered through an intravenous line. It takes effect quickly and facilitates “twilight sleep,” where you may have some awareness of your surroundings, but it will be minimal.
Most IV sedation patients have little-to-no memory of the procedure. As with oral conscious sedation, you’ll need a loved one to drive you home after the appointment.
Our periodontist and prosthodontist frequently collaborate on cases involving dental implants, where the periodontist ensures healthy gum and bone support while the prosthodontist designs and places the final prosthetic tooth or bridge. Our combined expertise is also essential for complex full-mouth reconstructions that require both surgical gum and bone treatment and high-quality tooth replacement.
